HUD has made it easy for potential borrowers to confirm whether a condominium complex is FHA approved. Simply go to www.hud.gov and click on the “Resources” tab and then click on HUD Approved Condominium Projects and you will be taken to the page shown below. You can look up by condo name or by city. The approved projects will be listed along with complex details including when the HUD approval expires (See below). If a complex isn’t HUD approved or the approval is about to expire the HOA should contact HUD (1-800-CALL-FHA) and see what process they need to go through to get their complex approved or what is required to extend the existing complex approval with HUD.
