What an excellent opportunity to give back and help a family in need this Christmas. My dear friend Timaree of OC Home Staging is designer for the family and she created a Wish/Need List for Furnishing Hope and Habitat for Humanity Home in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Five Habitat for Humanity houses are being finished this month in San Juan Capistrano, CA. From Jan. 4th – Jan. 7th designers working with Furnishing Hope will transform these houses to homes. I am thrilled to be a designer for the following family’s home and would love for you to be a part by giving your time or donating something from the list.
Brief profile of this family of Five: Dad, Mom, 10 yr old Allan, 2 yr old Nicole, Newborn baby girl Mia
Dad recently back from active duty in Iraq, applied for his dream job w/the Police Academy was accepted but through the rigorous testing process they found trauma from his military duty that would prevent him from serving us in the police force. Thankfully, he was able to get a part time job turned to full time job through his exemplary efforts at a local technical company.
Their Interior Wish List: Mom & Dad ideally like dark furnishings and have expressed the following interests or room themes for their children if possible; Allan – 10 yr old loves skateboarding; 2 yr old Nichol – Tinker Bell theme; Newborn girl, Mia – Princess theme.
(Please understand these are their dream wish lists that we hope to fulfill but this family will be appreciative of whatever means we could provide them)
Gently Used Furnishing Needs:
Crib (ideally a darker wood finish because that’s what the other furniture collected is but interested in others too)
Coffee table, end tables, dressers, night stands
$ Donations will be accepted and applied directly towards your choice of:
2 towel sets, 2 bath rugs, and 2 decorative shower curtains
Drapery rods & panels for living room/dining room & bedrooms
Bed coverings for each room
$100.00 – will purchase a new CRIB $50.00 – will purchase CRIB BEDDING (little princess theme…so cute)
Your purchase or donation for the following items that need to be UNUSED is greatly appreciated:
6 -8 new bed pillows
2 twin mattress pads
2 twin sheets in white
1 Queen Mattress pad
1 Queen Sheet set in cream/ivory shade
Plain Dishware set in ivory or white
Glassware for 8
Silverware set for 8
A place will be set for each member of the family with the few extras saved for future guests
Brief info about Furnishing Hope: Furnishing Hope was founded to provide a home like environment for kids and families in stressful situations. Our recipients include qualifying new homeowners, youths emancipating from the foster care system, homeless families moving to second step homes and the developmentally disabled.
Through donations, a network of designers and volunteers use their skills to transform the environment of each home; giving those in need the opportunity to experience life with the comfort of living in pleasant and cheerful surroundings.
